To provide maintenance on residential heating and air conditioning systems according to company standards providing the customer with a high quality experience.
Qualifications:- Valid driver’s license
- Demonstrate willingness to invest in tools used in the service of HVAC equipment
- Demonstrate willingness to invest time in service training seminars and classes
- Work from 28’ extension ladder and 12’ step ladder
- Ability to operate power and hand tools safely
- Enroll in HVAC course and/or in house training programs
- Ability to follow written and verbal directions as given
- Demonstrate commitment to developing customer service skills
- Demonstrate mechanical aptitude
- Demonstrate ability to perform routine preventative maintenance on residential systems with minimal assistance and supervision
- Understand benefits of preventative maintenance
- Demonstrate beginning knowledge of customer service skills
- On call status for emergency service as required
- Develop basic knowledge of diagnostic and troubleshooting techniques
Install Helpers assist the installers working on but not limited to forced air equipment, sheet metal duct systems, cutting and threading pipe, gas piping, etc for residential and light commercial customers.
- Work safely following company policies.
- Install HVAC related equipment according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Install sheet metal duct systems in residential and light commercial buildings.
- Connect gas lines to heating equipment. Cut and thread pipe.
- Requires wiring both line voltage and low voltage to heating equipment.
- Load all equipment for daily jobs
- Requires installing copper refrigerant line to air conditioning units, including soldering and brazing.
- Provides assistance to lead installer on the job
- Demonstrate and establish effective working relationships with co-workers and superiors
- High School or GED (HVAC Certificaton or Diploma Preferred)
- EPA Certification – either Type I & Type II or Universal (1+ years HVAC work experience as an Install Helper Preferred)
- Good communication and customer service skills required, a valid driver’s license with a good driving record
Job may include, but not limited to:
- Climbing, Extreme Hot or Cold (outdoors)
- Heavy Lifting, Loud Noises
- Must be able to work off ladders at various elevations
- Crawling, working in confined spaces
- Pushing/Pulling, Carrying Equipment, Bending, Turning, Kneeling
- Team lift furnaces up to 200 pounds, individually lifting up to 100 pounds
